"The Longest Hike" 4 x 5" oil on panel

A lovely small format piece of a hike I took last year. I've painted this larger, and in fact smaller. It's one of the prettiest views I ever remember on a hike, so the bet is that I will paint it again. Anyhow, I digress. This is available, framed as you see it for $125. "Coquille River Lighthouse" 8" x 16" oil on canvas

The word Coquille comes from the Native American word for the site - Koh-kel. The French explorer LaPerouse sailed past the area in 1796, and the first settlers arrived in 1853. The river seemed a natural location as a port for exporting lumber and other goods from the Coquille River Valley in Bandon, Oregon. The Coquille River empties into the Pacific Ocean. The river extends inland a great distance, and was a natural link to the virgin stands of timber in the area. The bar at the mouth of the river, formed by the interaction of the river and ocean, was a major obstacle for the ships entering the river. At times, only a few feet of water would cover the bar, but still vessels attempted to navigate the river in hopes of reaping the rewards that lay upstream. In 1880, Congress passed a bill providing for the construction of a jetty on the south side of the river’s entrance. The jetty created a clear channel in the river, prompting a rapid rise in the number of ships entering the river.

This is one of a current series of the Northwest's lighthouses - some in Oregon, some in Washington - all beautiful. This is 8" x 16" and not presently available for sale as it is reserved for an upcoming show. Questions on one similar to it? Happy to accept commissions. Email me here and I will get back to you right away.

Miniature oil paintings - "Seasons"

Here's one of the most charming recent trends in displaying miniature art. The small plate stands can hold up to a 5" x 7" gallery-wrapped canvas and they look wonderful. They can either be grouped all together as this series "Seasons" is, or displayed seperately, tucked into a little nook, or a small space on a bookcase. They're the perfect size for a tabletop or a window ledge and make beautiful gifts. These particular paintings are just $90 each, S/H included, easel is not.

"Seasons, Winter"

SOLD
This is another winter morning scene. Yessss, it's still snowing off and on here in the Northwest where we so rarely ever have snow. But the children are certainly taking advantage of the *snow days* off from school, even though the temperatures have been in the freezing zone - one can still find them outside making snowmen and finding hills to sled on. This painting is 4 x 6" and on gallery wrapped canvas, no framing needed if that's your choice. You can have your own little snow scene no matter where you live by just clicking on the 'buy now' button to pay $90 by Paypal, or email me for further info. S/H included to US only.

Miniature Diptych "Bleu X Deaux"

This is a miniature diptych of the gorgeous coastline that I often paint. Each canvas is 4 x 4". This is an area of the northern Washington coast, near Forks on the Olympic Peninsula. I so look forward to the warmer weather and being able to paint en plein air over there again. In the meantime, my photos will have to do. This, for sale at just $150. Click on the 'buy now' button to purchase through Paypal or email me for further info.

"Just Ater the Storm" 4" x 6" SOLD

SOLD
This little gem was such fun to paint. We rarely get snow in our area, but when we do it's lovely. The mountains and the passes though, that's a far different story. We've had a LOT of snow up there this year and the skiiers and children are thrilled with it all. Me? I like to *look* at it.
This painting is 4" x 6" , but alas, has been sold - right off the easel, so to speak.

Tiny Little Treasures

Here are two tiny paintings priced just right for that spot where a larger work wouldn't fit! Both are from photos I've taken of my beloved Northwest. Each painting is $75 unframed. They are painted on gallery wrapped canvas, but I am displaying them here framed ,as personally I think at this miniature size, they look better framed. You can either purchase your own ready made frame, or I am happy to do it for you. They run less than $40 each. They also look amazing in a much wider frame, letting the beauty of the miniature be showcased by a wide border of beautiful framing. The choice is yours! "Cerises du Rouge, Paired"

SOLD -
Cerises du rouge en cristal

Here is another couple of paintings that, although painted to be displayed as a pair, not necessarily so. I'm particularly fond of these because they show the elegant side of cherries in crystal as well as the simple every day pleasure of them when served in a stonewear bowl. They are $125 each, 8" x 10" and they are on gallery wrapped canvas. I've framed them for display so they can be shown either way. They are sold unframed, but if you wish framing, email me here for particulars. Click on the Paypal 'buy now' button if you wish to purchase or email me for other options.

"Cerises du rouge"

"Cherries of Red" is the translated name of this painting in English. It is on an 8 x 10" gallery wrapped canvas. I love painting cherries in their beautiful, dramatic colors. This is a good use of chiarascuro. The thing that drew me to this image is the play of the cast shadows and the pattern they make upon the table as well as on the bowl itself. This is for sale for just $125 US. If you would like to buy it, click the 'buy now' button to be transferred to Paypal. If you have questions about this painting or any other one, please click here to contact me and I will get right back to you.
